Diamond Core Bits for Geological Exploration
TTM supplies a full range of diamond core bits for mineral exploration, geotechnical investigation, and engineering drilling. These bits are used to cut a cylindrical core of rock, allowing geologists and project engineers to examine the subsurface structure in detail.
Core bits are installed on the end of a core barrel and are available in standard sizes — such as BQ, NQ, HQ, PQ — compatible with most drilling systems in the industry.
All our bits are produced to international standards and selected based on ground conditions, drilling method, and core recovery requirements.
Main available Types:
- Impregnated Diamond Bits
Ideal for hard and abrasive formations. These bits feature a wear-resistant matrix with embedded synthetic diamonds that are gradually exposed during drilling — perfect for granite, basalt, or hard ore zones. - Surface-Set Diamond Bits
Recommended for medium-hard formations. A single layer of natural diamonds provides high penetration rates in limestone, marble, or moderately consolidated rocks. - PCD / TSP Core Bits
Designed for soft to medium formations like shale, claystone, or sandstone. These bits use polycrystalline diamond cutters that provide fast drilling and good core recovery. - Tungsten Carbide Bits
For very soft or loose formations such as clay, coal, or weathered zones. Carbide-set crowns are economical and efficient where diamond bits are unnecessary.
